I am an ecologist and evolutionary biologist with a passion for seaweeds and solutions to mitigate the global impacts of climate change. I have conducted research on kelp ecosystems in the U.S., Chile, Norway, and South Africa, combining lab and field work to explore seaweed genetics, physiology, and chemistry. Currently, I’m applying this expertise to renewable energy, working with researchers on harvesting, cultivation, and conversion of seaweeds and other feedstocks for biofuel and bio-based materials. I am especially interested in building international collaborations that advance ocean-based climate solutions.
